Life's a Mystery
Orange psychedelic sun dropped into the sea
The colors melt and fade to black and white
From the cockpit of my stellar craft there’s a full moon that I see
It’s Lunar forces acting on the tide
Cosmic relativity I still don’t understand
But it never stopped me starin’ at the sky
And if I sailed on thru eternity would it really never end
Or would I just come out a younger man on the other side
Life’s a mystery there’s so many questions
Echoing the galaxies and canyons of my mind
Ancient history Echoes sometimes answer
Instinct and a little faith will guide you as you fly
You can stare at the illusion but you’ll never really know
Cause the hand is slightly faster so it’s hard
To unravel all those mysteries behind the wizard’s show
Houdini never practiced in the yard
Now I have sailed horizons and I’ve stood on hallowed ground
And I’ve anchored close to love more than you know
And by the heavens up above I can assure you that I’ve found
You don’t have to understand to just appreciate the show
Life’s a mystery there’s so many questions
Echoing the galaxies and canyons of my mind
Ancient history Echoes sometimes answer
Instinct and a little faith will guide you as you fly

Ambergris Caye
Piers and palapas up and down the beach
Boats by the dock taking people to the reef
I don’t wanna go home I don’t ever wanna leave
Playin’ my guitar by the turquoise sea
Palm trees shade my chair by the beach
While she whispers to me I don’t ever wanna leave
I’ve waited so long to find
A place by the sea where the climate suits me just fine
I’m home on Ambergris Caye
Undersea world of coral and fan
Schools of fishes more colorful than
You could ever dream It’s a fantasy to see
Walkin’ on the beach down at Pelican Reef
Barefoot children playin’ in the street
It’s a laid back life I don’t ever wanna leave
I’ve waited so long to find
A place by the sea where the climate suits me just fine
I’m home on Ambergris Caye
I’m home on Ambergris Caye

IDONWANNABE
Idontwannabe alone tonight
I dontwanna walk the beach alone underneath the moonlight
Idontwannabe alone tonight
Idontwanna wake up all alone and face the morning sunlight
I go down to the center of town
Party people come and dance the night away
I look around Happy people laughing loud
But I’m here all alone even though I’m standing in a crowd
So hear me now hear me now
Idontwannabe alone tonight
I dontwanna walk the beach alone underneath the moonlight
Idontwannabe alone tonight
Idontwanna wake up all alone and face the morning sunlight
I’m ready to settle down
I’m tired of playin’ games and holdin’ my heart close
And I will do anything I have to do
To prove my love is real and that it’s what I want the most
So hear me now hear me now
Idontwannabe alone tonight
I dontwanna walk the beach alone underneath the moonlight
Idontwannabe alone tonight
Idontwanna wake up all alone and face the morning sunlight

Island State of Mind
Kicked off my shoes threw away my watch
Cookin’ up supper with the fish I just caught
Walkin’ on the beach morning and night
I’m in an ISLAND STATE OF MIND
Palm trees swayin’ in the tropical breeze
Shooshin’ sound of waves right below my knees
Bougainville growin’ wild on the vine
I’m in an ISLAND STATE OF MIND
You might be sayin’ somethings wrong with me
How can you act so irresponsibly
Nothing but playin’ barely earning a dime
Reality’s fine but I ain’t got the time cause I’m
Wakin’ each morning to the sound of the sea
Watching the sunset sounds perfect to me
Searching for treasures I’m lucky to find
I’m in an ISLAND STATE OF MIND
Reality’s fine but I ain’t got the time cause
I’m in an ISLAND STATE OF MIND

Boat in Belieze
He sits at the bar while he’s waitin for charters
He’s up at the crack o’ noon
At night he’s at Fidos dancing with ladies
He’s a strikingly handsome dude
I don’t get much better sent his ex-wife a letter
Said there won’t be any alimony soon
I’ve been captured by natives of a third world country
Under a Central American moon
He’s got a boat in Belize docked in San Pedro
A coconut fall from the bar
He’s got his back to the beach on his favorite bar stool
He don’t have to stumble to far
He plies his trade in the islands divin and tryin
To forget what he left far behind
He’s just what he seems he’s lovin his dream
Down in Belize
Now the turquoise waters tickled by palm trees
Blowin in the tropical breeze
BarBQ Sundays Bruce on the Barbie
The palapa bar down at BC’s
Where ex-pats and islanders sailors and pirates
And divers and those with a scam
And tourists that meet him like me wanna be him
And we’re tryin to come up with a plan
He’s got a boat in Belize docked in San Pedro
A coconut fall from the bar
He’s got his back to the beach on his favorite bar stool
He don’t have to stumble to far
He plies his trade in the islands divin and tryin
To forget what he left far behind
He’s just what he seems he’s lovin his dream
With a boat in Belize

Solitude
Oceans of blue to the horizon
I hear voices though my quiet mind
Solitude can make you lonesome
But it can take you to another place in time
Feel the breeze straighten the telltale
Hear the mainsail firm and turn to foil
Wind and wing pulling me forward
The rhythm of the world stays so loyal
But I just can’t trust emotions on the mainland
Ev’ry port is just a bittersweet prelude
I guess I’m destined just to sail before the tradewinds
Cause the one thing I can trust is Solitude
The oceans swell rocking me gently
Ghosts of lovers past come to call
I wish I could tell my heart not to listen
On waves of passion it’s so easy to fall
But I just can’t trust emotions on the mainland
Ev’ry port is just a bittersweet prelude
I guess I’m destined just to sail before the tradewinds
Cause the one thing I can trust is Solitude
I guess I’m destined just to sail before the tradewinds
Cause the one thing I can trust is Solitude

Tropical Vacation
Weather’s not cooperating skies are always gray
Traffic’s runnin’ stop and go and backed up ev’ry day
Frantic people ev’rywhere goin’ nowhere fast
Focusing on all the things that were never meant to last
Work just seems to pile a little higher ev’ry day
The corporate bosses never care what the workers have to say
That list of things to do is in no danger of getting done
Time to unplug yourself and have a little fun
What you need is a Tropical Vacation
Take a trip down to a slower latitude
A little occupational evasion
Take off your coat and tie kick off your shoes
And soon you will see my infinite wisdom
That a walk on the beach can cure most of your symptoms
And just an ordinary day down here in paradise
Can make a difference in your life

The Great Bicycle Disaster
On a hill that was bigger than any I knew
I learned the thrill of the wind as I flew
On the edge of catastrophe fast as I could
Adrenaline pumped in my blood
Adrenaline pumped in my blood
Then a trip to the library opened a world
Of whalers and pirates and breakers that curled
Around Beaches on islands just pages away
From where I am anchored today
From where I am anchored today
Cause I’m a writer and a sailor and a singer of songs
And I’ll take you places if you’ll come along
From a sunset in Key West to the Seattle rain
I’ll show you the colors of pleasure and pain
And I’m a constant observer of the humanoid race
Addicted to children with smiles on their face
And I’m a hopeless romantic that can’t help but dream
Eclectically challenged it seems
Eclectically challenged it seems
Once I took a chance and I gave up my heart
But before the dance ended it didn’t quite start
And I’ve played that song over and over again
But I still can’t figure out why
No I still can’t figure out why
But it’s a circular motion this travel thru time
Your journey’s not over and neither is mine
There’s a new chapter written each day you can read
Extrapolate all that you need
Extrapolate all that you need
Cause I’m a writer and a sailor and a singer of songs
And I’ll take you places if you’ll come along
From a sunset in Key West to the Seattle rain
I’ll show you the colors of pleasure and pain
And I’m desperate survivor of the humanoid race
Addicted to children with smiles on their face
And I’m a troubadour destined to sing what he sees
That aging explorer is me
Oh that aging explorer is me
On a hill that was bigger than any I knew
I learned the thrill of the wind as I flew

Sailing Away From the Madness (Choices You Make)
There’s no moon in the sky tonight Orion lights my way
Mars is close in the Southern sky
40 million miles away
But I can see it clearly Oh so clearly
I’m Sailing away from the madness
I’m trailing a light in my wake
I’m waiting on the horizon
You’ll find me with the choices you make
Sirens call from the rocky shoal tempting sailors for a taste
Of earthly pleasures then they’ll steal their souls
And leave ‘em littered with the waste
But I can see it clearly Oh so clearly
I’m Sailing away from the madness
I’m trailing a light in my wake
I’m waiting on the horizon
You’ll find me with the choices you make
With the choices you make……

Blame it on Buffett
Somewhere I took a right instead of a left
College never sat well so I headed South Southwest
I ended up in Texas on the Gulf of Mexico
Where I learned to sail and I learned to write
About the places I wanted to go
Blame it on Buffett
He was my hero from way in the past
And I sang his songs and had island dreams
Before I ever raised a main up a mast
Blame it on Buffett
We took the road less traveled upon
And though he beat me there well I’m enjoyin’ the journey
And I love singing both of our songs
I sailed from Lauderdale down to Key Largo
Crossed the Gulf on a fast sloop and I sailed the Abacos
As a kid I read KonTiki and now all the pirate books too
There’s just so many places on my list to see
I’m goin’ crazy just tryin’ to choose
Blame it on Buffett
He was my hero from way in the past
And I sang his songs and had island dreams
Before I ever raised a main up a mast
Blame it on Buffett
We took the road less traveled upon
And though he beat me there well I’m enjoyin’ the journey
And I love singing both of our songs
Well now fame and piles of money I’ll never see
But I love playin’ my music and thank God my fans love me
And though I’m not a handsome guy well there were ladies who were kind
And loved me through the faults I had
Well it’s been one whale of a ride
Blame it on Buffett
He was my hero from way in the past
And I sang his songs and had island dreams
Before I ever raised a main up a mast
Blame it on Buffett
We took the road less traveled upon
And though he beat me there well I’m enjoyin’ the journey
And I love singing both of our songs

Searchin'
Yes I’m still alone
I keep waiting for a sign
I keep searchin high and low
I keep both eyes open wide
I know somewhere in this great big world
For me there’s just one girl
I won’t give up until I see
Her lovin’ eyes lookin’ back at me
I keep searchin
Searchin for those eyes that shine for me
I keep searchin
Searchin for someone to share my dream
You know love can find you
At a most unusual time
And you wake up from a dream
Looking right into her eyes
And you know it’s her right from the start
You feel it deep down in your heart
The magic in the air between
The breath you share can be so sweet
I keep searchin
Searchin for those eyes that shine for me
I keep searchin
Searchin for someone to share my dream

Merry Christmas Island Style
Ring around the palm trees with the tiny lights
Hang ‘em up in the riggin’ makes the harbor look so bright
Put up lots of mistletoe now we’re havin’ fun
Especially in the islands when you’re drinkin’ lots of rum
Have a Merry Christmas Have a Merry Christmas
Have a Merry Christmas Island style
Have a Merry Christmas Have a Merry Christmas
Have a Merry Christmas Island style
Presents wrapped with palm leaves tied with colored bows
Sandman on the beach with a banana for a nose
Christmas eve with candles eat a tasty bite
Steel drums round the island playin’ Jingle Bells tonight
Santa and his reindeer had a stressful night
Landin’ on the rooftops and chimneys that were tight
But the presents were delivered to the children far and near
Now it’s a Southern latitude rejuvinational time-out til next year
Have a Merry Christmas Have a Merry Christmas
Have a Merry Christmas Island style
Have a Merry Christmas Have a Merry Christmas
Have a Merry Christmas Island style
Reindeer went to snorkel with the dolphin school
Blitzen’s in the raw bar Rudolf’s in the pool
Lizards eatin’ fruitcake from a friendly Parrothead
Santa’s got his thong on and BOY HIS CHEEKS ARE RED!
