This CD is a bit of a change from my last two in themes and musical production. I like variety and as a songwriter, I enjoy exploring a range of subjects, emotions and music. I think it was my “destiny” to write this album as some songs are very personal and the title song is the story of my life. Thank you for all your support and comments so far. There’s no greater compliment or validation for a songwriter than to have your song speak to some ones heart when they need it.
I hope you like it! - Kelly

Any Better Than This

I wanna song where the good guy wins Plays his cards right gets the girl in the end
There's a place he's a hero and his biggest fan Looks up to him like he's Superman
He works hard evryday to find Waitin at home there's a hug and a smile
At dinner he listens to the stories they tell All the while he's just thinking to himself

It don't get any better than this It's what they say money can't buy
Evryday he shakes his head And says 'man I'm a lucky guy'
All the parties in the world All the diamonds and gold
They don’t mean much when you need someone to hold It'd be shame to miss
It don't get any better than this

All his buddies try to get him to play A round of golf or go fish in the bay
He says hey I'm sorry but I've got other plans They shake their heads they don't understand

But he'll go fishin this weekend alright With his special little buddy and the love of his life
He knows what he's got & he's not contemplating On Missin a minute of this dream that he's living

Don't get any better than this It's what they say money can't buy
Evryday he shakes his head and says 'man I'm a lucky guy'
All the parties in the world All the diamonds and gold
They don’t mean much when you need someone to hold
It'd be shame to miss It don't GET any Better than this

But on the day she was born And he heard that little voice cry
He knew it just got better and Then she opened her eyes

It don't get any better than this It's what they say money can't buy
Evryday he shakes his head and says 'man I'm a lucky guy'
All the parties in the world All the diamonds and gold
They don't mean much when you need someone to hold
It'd be shame to miss It don't GET any Better than this
It don't GET Any better than this

There's noWHERE He'd rather be

Seventeen

Homecoming queen you were the prize I called the plays and won the game
We were the stars the other idolized. And the universe was ours At seventeen

Graduation u feared I would go. Call it a Calculated ing fate. (Call it providence or fate)
From rocky ground a seed began to grow And you (we) cried when u were late &The future seemed to fade

Can you believe we were so naïve To think the first love we knew was real
We were so sure it would last forever A feeling I now long to feel.

So Take me back when we were 17 That summer we were never far apart
We vowed our love how it would always be But how could we know.. we were so in love At seventeen

So we settled for this little town Come spring we said our vows
Time numbed us to the tenderness We were good at playing house but I remember now

Can you believe we were so naïve To think the first love we knew was real
We were so sure it would last forever A feeling I now long to feel.

so Take me back to when u wanted me That summer underneath the moon & stars
We vowed our love out on the tailgate of my truck But how could we know.. we were so in love

At Seventeen

Now we go thru the motions And we dance like strangers All our rainbows turned to gray
We barely see each other Thru shattered dreams and anger It's such a sad ballet

So Take me back when we were 17 That summer we were never far apart
We vowed our love out on the tailgate of my truck But how could we know.. we were so in love at 17

Take me back to when u wanted me That summer underneath the moon & stars
We vowed our love out on the tailgate of my truck But how could we know.. we were so in love

Coming Home

Twenty five hundred miles behind me
Four Shows in the snow, shows on the beach
From New England down to the Baja coast
I'm livin a dream but I miss you the most
I'm a lucky man livin a dream that's been truly blessed

There's a trail of melodies and concert fans
In the wake of my destiny cradled in their hands
But the sound of ur voice echoes in my heart
Like a shout in a canyon when we're apart

Hope may echo in their hearts
Long after I'm just a memory in the dark
That still reverberates like a shout in a canyon in the wake of my
That fulfilled my dreams I'm a very blessed man

Ev'ry minute I'm another mile closer to you
Ev'ry hour hour I'm thinking bout what I'm gonna do
When I hold u in my arms and kiss ur face
I feel my blood gettin hotter as it circulates
When I'm looking at love in your brown eyes
And the closer we get it intensifies
All the world is right in your embrace
Like the warmth of the sun ur heart generates

Baby I'm a coming
Fast as I can I'm coming
Baby I'm coming home to you

I been doing some thinking bout livin this way
There's some changes i'm a thinkin maybe we should make
When I head out on the road leavin you at home
I know how you hate bein left all alone

But Just three more shows and I'm headed that way
Baby I'm ready and I can't wait
And we're gonna have to talk about bein apart
When I'm away from u feels like I'm missing my heart

Ev'ry minute I'm another mile closer to you
Ev'ry hour hour I'm thinking bout what I'm gonna do
When I hold u in my arms and kiss ur face
I feel my blood gettin hotter as it circulates
When I'm looking at love in your brown eyes
And the closer we get it intensifies
All the world is right in your embrace
Like the warmth of the sun ur heart generates

Baby I'm a coming
Fast as I can I'm coming
Baby I'm coming home to you

As the stage lights go dim
And the noise fades away
Your smile glows bright in my mind
It's then that I think about missing your body
A consuming desire redefined

Baby I'm coming
Fast as I can I'm coming
Baby I'm coming home to you

Ev'ry minute I'm another mile closer to you
Ev'ry hour hour I'm thinking bout what I'm gonna do
When I hold u in my arms and kiss ur face
I feel my blood gettin hotter as it circulates
When I'm looking at love in your brown eyes
And the closer we get it intensifies
All the world is right in your embrace
Like the warmth of the sun ur heart generates

Baby I'm a coming
Fast as I can I'm coming
Baby I'm coming home to you

Baby I'm a coming Hold on I'm coming
I'm coming home to you
Ya better get ready cause Baby I'm a coming
Fast as I can I'm coming
Baby I'm coming home to you

Baby I'm a coming Hold on I'm coming
Fast as I can I'm coming home to you
Ya better get ready cause Baby I'm a coming
Fast as I can I'm coming
Baby I'm coming home to you

Barnacles

Barnacles are growing round the waterline Varnish on the teak peeled and lost its shine
And the canvas faded to a pinkish hue And she's rusty round the scuppers like he is too

He's dreaming bout the waters that he used to sail Lying to himself with just stories to tell
He aint goin nowhere He's stuck right here that boat'll never leave that splintered old pier

He's dreaming his way to the islands Telling everyone he's gonna go
He's got enough beer to provide him with a days worth if he drinks slow

Sittin in the cockpit talking to himself Dreaming of trying Determined as hell
Ev’ry pop top he gets closer and bolder At sunset fin’lly his head's on his shoulder

And he’s Dreaming Dreamin he's halfway there
Dreamin his way Dreamin his way to the islands

He's had her since she was a brand new boat Prettiest craft he'd ever seen afloat
He was proud to drop anchor in those tropical places
She shined like a pearl swinging on a necklace ...

Well The market collapsed he lost his momentum now this boat's his whole world
Tied to the dock with three frayed lines Been years since he's even had his sails unfurled

Now he’s Sittin in the cockpit talking to himself Dreaming of trying Determined as hell
Ev’ry pop top he gets closer and bolder At sunset fin’lly his head's on his shoulder

And he’s Dreaming Dreamin he's halfway there
Dreamin his way Dreamin his way to the islands
Dreamin his way Got half a mind to stay Dreamin his way Dreamin his way to the islands

C'mon Bud it's time to go home
Aww man i just sailed into the most beautiful bay...Just getting ready to drop the anchor...
Maybe jump in the water and find some conch...Swim over to that sandy beach...Lay under that palm tree...

Destiny & Fate

I've lived my life by the seat of my pants Blessed (along) on the way by random luck or chance
Guided by a light down a crooked path That led me straight to you and this romance
It was right in front of the one man band I turned and you were there
I sang "baby you look wonderful tonight" right in your ear

And that's what life is.. Full of surprises Around each bend in time.. right before your eyes
Destiny will soon collide with fate And all the plans you made And all the routes you tried to navigate
May not work out at all like u tried to orchestrate But the journey makes it worth it all
It's destiny and fate

I've done (tried (worked at) more jobs than u might guess At times I'll admit my life was quite a mess
But I listened to the voices inside my head And tho I wandered in the desert.... I still passed the test
With a faith that the master engineer Had a plan & he knew best
I fin'lly found my way now I know and I understand my quest

And that's what life is.. Full of surprises Around each bend in time.. right before your eyes
Destiny will soon collide with fate And all the plans you made And all the routes you tried to navigate
May not work out at all like u tried to orchestrate But the journey makes it worth it all
It's destiny and fate

As a child I dreamed of all the things life could hold Confused about the part I would portray
Never knowing I was training for the lead role Of a renaissance cosmic troubadour That finlly found his way

And that's what life is.. Full of surprises
Around each bend in time.. right before your eyes

Destiny will soon collide with fate And all the plans you made And all the routes you tried to navigate
May not work out at all like u tried to orchestrate But the journey makes it worth it all
It's destiny and fate Yeah The journey makes it worth it all It's Destiny & Fate

You Drive Me Crazy

I light up inside each time You walk thru the door
Every Fiber of my mind Is under your control
It’s true I’m wild about you

Honey YOU … Drive Me Crazy Honey You… Drive me Crazy And I’m all in to You

Just a T shirt and a smile you walk across the room
Everything you do with style The smell of your perfume
It’s True I’m wild about You

Baby You… drive me Crazy… Baby You… drive me crazy AND I’m all in to you
Baby You… drive me Crazy… Baby You… drive me crazy AND I’m all in to you

Broken Pieces

Broken pieces scattered all around Fragments of a knot that's come unwound
The better could not overcome the worst The union that was blessed became the cursed

What turned a wonderland a battleground What sang with passion now there is no sound
Where once there was no flicker of a doubt Then the flame grew dim and soon went out

Broken pieces Shattered Just like glass Cleaved in pieces Fairytales collapse
The castle crumbled in the end No knights to rescue and defend
The sanctity and innocence of love

Poor Aphrodite Made her final stand Then disappeared to safer borderland
All the kingdom wondered where she’d gone As they walked among the remnants on the lawn

Broken pieces Shattered Just like glass Cleaved in pieces Fairytales collapse
The castle crumbled in the end No knights to rescue and defend
The sanctity and innocence of love

Broken pieces..... Broken pieces

The FLOOD

We came home to a nightmare when they pulled the barricades and let us thru
The rain had stopped and we had no idea what we’d be returning to
Past a seascape with no landmarks my wife’s eyes clearly showin her alarm
Where I’d grown up there wasw nothing left the day the Flood took Daddy’s farm

The water rose so fast but we thought yeah we’ve seen it rain like this before
and Then Henry drove his john boat up the lane and docked at our front door
and He said ‘grab the kids and Gina there’s no time to waste’ and reached and squeezed my arm
And we learned first hand the fear of leavin’ home the day the Flood took daddy’s farm

And those eighty years of mem’ries washed away and under bridges
And the house my daddy built with his own hands
Disappeared in muddy waters that rose clean up to the ridges
Who’s to blame Nature God or Man

We tried to keep from cryin all the pictures we had left were in our mind
We sunk up past our ankles as we searched for things to salvage we could find
Then I said a prayer and thanked the Lord and hugged us all together with my arm
As we stood there holdin’ on to all we had the day the Flood took daddy’s farm

And those 80 years of mem’ries washed away and under bridges
And the house my daddy built with his own hands (&the front porch that we held r wedding on)
Disappeared in muddy waters that rose clean up to the ridges
Who’s to blame nature God or man… (I’m glad he’s not here to see it gone)

The neighbors came from miles to help us build it back the way it was before
They brot lumber they brought sofas they brought something you don’t find much anymore
I fought hard against the tears that welled up you know how a man sure hates to cry
All I could do was shake my head and shake their hands wiping something from my eye

And those 80 years of mem’ries washed away and under bridges
And the house my daddy built with his own hands
Disappeared in muddy waters that rose clean up to the ridges
Who’s to blame Nature God or Man

And the land he plowed till sunset
And the barn we ( loaded hay in (we first (kissed/made love in)
And the picket fence we put up for my mom
Came rushing back before my eyes the day The Flood took daddy’s farm

Where Love Goes

Tides change planets turn Now it's cold and dark Where love used to burn
The sun sets and the moon wanes And no one yet can ever explain

Where love goes when it disappears Turns cold brings the tears
Is it worth the cost When innocence is lost
And you feel the pain And wonder whose to blame Still no one knows Where love goes

Seasons change another New Years Eve Valentine You begin to believe
But reality soon takes its toll Left to wonder why as the credits roll

Where love goes when it disappears Turns cold brings the tears
Is it worth the cost When innocence is lost
And you feel the pain And wonder whose to blame
Still no one knows Where love goes

Where love goes when it disappears Turns cold brings the tears
Is it worth the cost When innocence is lost
And you feel the pain And wonder whose to blame
Still no one knows Where love goes

Does it evaporate I try and contemplate Or is it just a myth a fairy princess kiss
Is it just a tale like the Holy Grail Surely someone knows Where love goes

Where love goes

The SONG

Songs come easy songs come hard
Some take time to find
Their way thru your heart
Inspired or contrived happy or dark
The poetry of music is the color of life

And from the Star Spangled Banner to the Cotton Eyed Joe
Music can take you where you wanna go

So let's hear it for the song
emotion in time
to have and to hold
Or a baby's first cry
Bout drinkin rum on the beach
Or sailing far off seas
Orchestrated stories written for you and me

In a room there's a writer with a broken heart
Pouring out his soul as the tear drops fall
But he puts it in words we can comprehend
Cause we identify with the pain he's in

And it feels he wrote a story right out of your life
So thank him for the music and the sacrifice

So let's hear it for the song
emotion in time
to have and to hold
Or a baby's first cry
Bout drinkin rum on the beach
Or sailing far off seas
Orchestrated stories written for you and me

In a minute he can take u from laughter to pain In a cinematic movie of emotion From the beauty of sunrise to a hurricane
He's dedicated to the journey that he's chosen

So let's hear it for the song
emotion in time
to have and to hold
Or that baby's first cr
About rum on the beach
Or sailing far off sea
Orchestrated stories written
for you and me
