What a thrill to perform with my band at Pardi Gras in New Orleans to a packed house at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Cafe. Thanks to Jerry & Mary Diaz and all the volunteers who made Pardi Gras happen! I moved into a new house right after Christmas and still unpacking and organizing… nice to have more room. I plan to set up my music studio AND a painting studio.

Thanks to the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce for having us at their annual ball held at the San Luis in Galveston. The band & I had a blast and enjoyed all the PIRATES!!!

After moving, I’m using any spare time in Feb & March to finish the new CD…. Yeah yeah yeah… keep your funny stabs & jabs about how long it’s taking to yourselves! I think it will be worth the wait. Thank you very much for your support in making a life-long dream come true.. See ya soon! ~ kelly

It's been a fantastic summer and this past month was filled with some great audiences! Thank you for your support!!! The new CD is well under way and I'll keep you posted as to release date & Release Party.

*We had a fun night at the HAAK Winery for the release party of thier new Pink Pelican wine.

*The "Kelly & Shake Russell Show" at Rossetti 's was a sold-out success and plans are in the works to do it again! What a treat for me to be able to sing "Deep In The West" with Shake. I know he enjoyed the crowd and performing for them as much as I did! "The Scene" magazine's Jim Shortt wrote a wonderful review of the show so pick up a copy. Thank you Mark & Shirley Rossetti for being such great hosts.

*I've performed in the Cuervo Cantina for the last couple of Texans games and the Texans Pep Band playing along with me on one of my new songs was a real thrill!

* South Shore Dockside Wine Fest had perfect weather and what a fine listening audience under the big tent for our two shows there. The band was great and Alexa graced the crowd with a couple of songs as well as singing great backup vocals with us.

*Then I was off to KEY WEST for the annual Parrot Head Convention with 3000 Jimmy Buffett fans converging on the island still recovering from Hurricane Wilma. This year I was booked more than previous years doing 6 shows in 5 days! Even sold-out of CDs. The annual Texas Sunset Cruise was sold out and Jerry Diaz & I kept 'em singing and dancing till the sun went down along with our friend Chad VanDelden on steel drum. My afternoon shows I set up at the Lighthouse Court each day ended up being better than I could imagine with folks telling me it was the hilight of their week!! Beautiful venue and many of my singer friends stopped by to sit in and sell their CDs. Sunny Jim's Blue Heaven Show on Sunday was a perfect way to end the week as usual. But... I do now have the ULTIMATE Key West Story that I'm sure will end up in SEVERAL songs.... if you haven't heard about it yet... I'll tell more later! Don't believe all the twisted versions floating around coast to coast!!!

*This weekend I will be traveling to the West coast of Mexico on the Sea of Cortez to the coastal village of San Carlos, home of my songwriter friend Mark Mulligan (yes, of Turn Around & Run fame). We will do a couple of shows together there Nov 19 & 20.

This will be a great show with Texas songwriting icon, Shake Russell, MyTexasMusic "Entertainer of the Year", who has had his songs recorded by Clint Black, Ricky Skaggs, Waylon Jennings etc. and his ballad "Deep In The West" is always a crowd pleaser. What an awesome voice and style he has!

Kelly says " I used to try to catch Shake's show everytime he was in this area and dreamed that one day I could perform my songs to people who listened like he did!" Although Kelly has been named "Entertainer of the Year" & "Songwriter of the Year" by various organizations, had his song "Wasted On The Young" in the Top 10 on the Texas Music Chart, received thousands of spins on Country Radio in the US & Europe and sold over 10,000 of his first CD "Redfish Island"... he feels very privileged to share the stage with such an entertainer as Shake. Rossetti's is a wonderful venue for a mini-concert with award-winning Songwriters where you can really hear the lyrics and not be blown away by the loud band or noisey room. Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear some great songs and the story behind them!

Greetings From Redfish Island!!!
Thursday: T-Bones!!..... Friday: Baytown!!..... Sat: Outriggers in Seabrook!! Details Below.

Wow! What a trip to the Left Coast! I flew in and saw my good friends Monica & Trevor who had just moved temporarily to LA the week before and my old neighbor Fred then drove the BEAUTIFUL drive down to San Diego where I met up with many wonderful folks from the San Diego Parrot Head Club, some I had met in Key West, and performed at the Downtown Sheraton with my songwriter friend, and ambassador for San Diego, Gary Seiler (who will be here April 28th for a show). They made me feel right at home... almost like family! I even met Hugo Duarte, a songwriter from North Carolina, who I've seen perform in Key West.. he was in town for a show the next night and sat in with us. At his show the next night, Gary and I both sat in with him to close the show and boy did we close it with a bang! Cheri even has a video I'm afraid!!! Gary, after sitting so close to you for three nights.... I'm afraid people are starting to talk! :)

The last day the weather broke and I did a house concert at Cheri's Place who was wonderful enough to host it and thanks to Calley and all who helped get the place ready. Much thanks to Bill & Jan Wang and their dogs & cats for being such great hosts & chauffeurs! Gordon Price from Barmusic.com met with me early to work on the show he's hosting for Radio Margaritaville then opened the show with some songs... followed by Gary Seiler (aka Mr Wonderful) who provided sound for everyone all week!! He also has a new CD out soon! Then it just keeps getting better with Rob Mehl showing up who we 'forced' to do a few tunes on his ukulele. We all finished out the show together and I felt like I was leaving my family when I flew out the next morning for Phoenix.

SOLD OUT show! After several years of friendship and the honor of having him record "Turn Around & Run" on his latest CD.. I FINALLY got to meet Mark Mulligan!!! What a great guy who everyone says is good looking like his wife! :) You may hear his great version of "Turn Around & Run" on Sirius Sat radio on the Vacation 97 channel... OR you might hear my version.. they are both playing! Also "Major Doubts" is playing on there. Jeanne & John who graciously agreed to host another Canyon House Concert just a week after their very first one to accomodate my trip, were so cool and helpful ! What an incredible venue at their new house up on a mountain. We had a fantastic audience of 70+ theater style and a beautiful day as well. They were wonderful hosts and I look forward to a return trip there. (keep my room ready!) Mark & I finished up the show together.. what a great songwriter & talent! HE will be here at Jerry & Kelly's Songwriter Show Mar 31.

I then spent some a couple of days relaxing with some long time friends up in Sedona and loving the scenery and all the red rock mountains before they drove me back to Phoenix to fly home. It was a wonderful and inspiring trip meeting so many incredible people and performing with such talent all in the space of 6days!

The concert benefitting Relay for Life hosted by the newly formed NorthEast Texas Parrot Head Club at the Music City Theater in Linden Texas (just south of Texarkana) was a great event for their first one. I really enjoyed playing in the Theater and look forward to a return trip there. Thanks to Scotty Shuffield who opened the show. Thanks Jackie & Richard and all the radio, media and folks who supported the event!

Sorry for the long novel but felt like sharing some of the recent news . Now back to the future!

Thurs March 31 7pm: Mark Mulligan from San Carlos Mexico is our special guest songwriter for the Jerry & Kelly Songwriter Show at T Bone Tom's Backyard in Kemah. $5. at the door.

See ya soon! - kelly

Greetings From Redfish Island!!!
It's been a busy February ! My birthday trip to Ambergris Caye ended up being a working trip ! :) Other than the 3 shows at Fido's I did about 3 other shows for private groups... but 2 were on boats out at the reef ! Can't beat that! The HLS&Rodeo BBQ cookoff last Thur-Sat was great for two nights THEN the rain came.

I'm leaving for the Left Coast Wednesday to do shows in San Diego & Phoenix and will get to see many of the Parrot Head friends I met in Key West & New Orleans. Some of the West Coast pickers will be sitting in with me, Gary Seiler, Rob Mehl & Gordon Price... then I go to Phoenix and get to finally meet my friend Mark Mulligan who recorded "Turn Around & Run" on his new CD. He did a great job and you may hear it on Sirrius "Vacation" channel.

See ya soon! - kelly
